Improve Your Children’s Immunity Versus Sickness

As a parent, it is heartbreaking to see your child suffering from a common cold, how much more from a deadly disease. It is very important that your children get proper nutrition and proper training on how to develop their strong immune system. You don’t need to spend too much in order to this; you will only need common sense.

Even (and especially) from infanthood, your child must begin to develop his or her resistance against certain diseases. That is why breastfeeding is important for babies up to two years of age. The nutrients your child can get from breast milk is enough to give him strength and resistance against chronic illnesses like pneumonia, diabetes, bronchitis, and meningitis.

Teach your children to love fruits and green and leafy vegetables. Including fruits and vegetables in their diet will help them grow with strong bones and muscles. The vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetable will reduce your children’s risk of becoming obese and develop heart problems when they get older.

Germs and bacteria will find their way into your children’s body if they do have proper hygiene. Have them wash their hands every time before and after meals. Always give your kids a bath whenever they come home from playing in the dirt. And teach them to brush their teeth three times a day in order for them to have a strong set of teeth.

Do not allow your children to stay awake until midnight. Make sure they get 8 hours of sleep every night. Their immunity to sickness will drop significantly if they always fail to get enough sleep. Giving them at least 2 hours of afternoon naps will also help them boost their energy levels.

Get your kids moving so that they will reduce their risk of gaining weight fast and become obese. Give them exercise routines every day when they wake up until they develop it into a habit. Giving them house chores will also prevent them from spending too much time sitting and lying around. The more activity, the better.

Do not expose your kids to cigarette and tobacco smoke. Second hand smoke is dangerous especially to children. Exposing them to it will increase their chances of having asthma, pneumonia and other lung problems in the future. Teach them to say no and hate these kind of vices.
