Low Testosterone Related To Aging Process

Today, it is more apparent than ever that testosterone levels not only affect man’s sex drive and performance but also has bearing on the male’s aging process. Testosterone is a major contributor to the male’s primary and secondary sex characteristics.

The growth of the male penis, testicles, scrotum, prostrate and seminal vesicles are known as man’s primary sex characteristics. Musculature, fat distribution, growth of body hair, thickening of the vocal chords, and growth of hair are examples of man’s secondary sex characteristics. Testosterone plays an active role in the growth of man’s primary and secondary sexual characteristics. What scientists and physicians now know is that testosterone, man’s sex hormone, also plays a large part in man’s aging process. As man’s testosterone level declines, the male sexual characteristics also begin to decline and man takes on a different, “aging,” appearance and persona.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone

In terms of how men look, a decrease in the sex hormone means less active sexual experiences, receding hair, the accumulation of more fat and other physical and psychological changes. Men with low testosterone become more anxious, especially about sex, and tend to become more introverted.

Man needs to decide whether to accept these changes or attempt to slow the transition. One thing is certain and that is that men who experience the following symptoms are definitely experiencing decreasing levels of testosterone.

* Erectile dysfunction * Loss of libido * Moods swings including depression and irritability * Loss of muscle size and strength * Osteoporosis or bone thinning * Increase of body fat * Memory loss * Lack of concentration * Sleeping difficulties

Physicians agree that the less testosterone the male produces the more the aging process becomes apparent.

Andropause or Male Menopause

The time period when men begin to experience lower testosterone is now called Andropause. It is related to the female menopause cycle. Just as females take doses of estrogen to combat the effects of low estrogen, men have begun to use testosterone supplements.

The decline of testosterone actually begins around age 30 and by age 40 the decline becomes much more noticeable. By age 50, the male sex drive and the aging process can preoccupy men and their interests and energy level can begin to shift.

Man’s desire to stay vibrant and energetic may explain the recent increased interest in the Malaysian produced herbal extract called Tongkat Ali. This all-natural testosterone booster has been used by Southeast Asian doctors as an all-purpose medicine for centuries. Recently endorsed by Dr. Mehmet Oz on his television show, the demand for Tongkat Ali Extract is at an all-time high.

Doctors estimate that beginning at age 30, men lose 2 percent of their testosterone per year. The loss of testosterone is less apparent in men than the loss of estrogen is in women. In men, the mid-life hormone shift starts early and is in full swing but still is less visible in women. However, today’s males are motivated to postpone the aging process.

If ingested properly, Tongkat Ali Extract will add to the user’s testosterone level. Not only will the user have a higher sex drive but the sexual performance will dramatically improve with more sustainable erections and more powerful orgasms.
