Some investigators at Harvard have shown that men who drink around four cups of caffeinated coffee every day are far less likely to develop Parkinson’s disease. They apparently believe that the reason is , caffeine improves the activity of the dopamine molecules in your brain. It may also be because caffeine can lower adenosine receptors and that helps make the brain less likely to get amyloid-beta. That is a brain plaque that has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. From what we can tell, there aren’t any studies at the moment done on whether or not caffeine intake can make you smarter but it is nice to know that it could help you ward off Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.

There is of research that demonstrates that caffeine raises your body’s blood pressure. This means that you will be at greater risk for heart disease and even heart failure. Some studies have also been executed, however, that state the opposite. Brooklyn College commissioned a report that proved men who absorbed a few cups of coffee each day would be less likely to develop heart issues. The basic idea is that, if you do not already are afflicted by hypertension then caffeine won’t cause the problem to happen. If you do currently endure difficulty with your heart, though, you should avoid taking in caffeine.

There are some who think that caffeine might help when you work out. Muscle contraction is actually reliant upon your body’s release of calcium. Adenosine may also help control that action. Caffeine prevents the adenosine receptors. That possibly sounds counterproductive but when your adenosine receptors get blocked, your brain sets of a chain of electrical impulses. The electro-mechanical impulses make your body generate bursts of calcium. Because your muscle mass will need calcium for training, the extra calcium that gets released can help make your workout more effective.

Obviously if you’d like caffeine to make you better, it needs to be ingested in small amounts. Just because caffeine may help you reduce the risk of disease and be a little bit healthier, that doesn’t mean that you should go overboard with it. The real truth is that an excess of caffeine really is bad for you. When consumed in moderation, however, the stuff can really help you increase your health. Who doesn’t want to reduce heart problems? Don’t you want to reduce your threat of Parkinson’s disease? Don’t you wish your workouts to be as helpful as possible?
